school started. its really cool and one of the best in the state. but theres lots of work. i have a lot to post up but i guess it will have to wait

gourmet
yesterday me and my step-mom went to a gourmet restaurant called New Rivers. it was awesome! i will tell you what i had!
First Course - Pork and Rabbit Rilette, the rilette came with a rillete (obviously) of pork and rabbit the flavor of the pork didn't cover the rabbit so it was way good. also it had these baguette crackers. they were cracker like and had olive oil drizzled over it. in addition it had exquisite mustard and little red clovers. the flavours were incredible but it wasn't an overdose of flavours. it had a great combination of flavors, it had the classic pork taste and you could taste the rabit the olive oil added a nice under tone then the muster took you by surprise and the clovers added tartness.
Second Course - the second course was a herb encrusted Pork Loin on a Parsnip Croquette, the pork was in three pieces and heavily herbed it had little purple flowers and sweet peas as well as bacon. from underneath you could see the croquette peeking out from under the pork. there was marinade sauce around it but not flooding it. i ordered my pork medium well and it came, medium well it was perfect, you could see the little tinges of pink but not too much. the bacon on top was delicious it had something on it that made the flavor really strong even though there were only little bits. i personally don't usually like peas but these were really good. you couldn't really taste the flowers but they added great colour. the parsnip croquette was perfect while it didn't have the dreaded strong taste of parsnips it kept the flavor so that it tasted of parsnips but not too much♥. the sauce was really good on the chops which were already marinated.
Coffee - the coffee was really good i got decaf and it was piping hot. it was really strong so i added a good amount of milk. it had this really nice flavour that i still cant quite put my finger on but it was really good.
Dessert - for desert i had goat cheese and red currant terrine. while i dont know what terrine means (once i become a dessert chef i will) it was like a cheese cake made with goat cheese. it had red currants on top and mixed into the top of the terrine. it had a gram cracker crust. it had a really good flavour and you could taste te goat sheese as an under tone to the tart sweet taste of the currants.
over all for the two of us it was $75

Snow demons
Today me and my brothers went outside to play in the snow, we were playing as innocently as three siblings can (ok really we were like killing each other)... But anyways we were you know sledding in the gully and stuff and me and the oldest of my little brothers...lets call him Nic, had these humungo bamboo sticks and we were using them to control the sleds (and kill each other) when suddenly out of no where came five great big snow demons, they were grizzly and white and there was a lot of snow sticking to them they had HUGE canines and 6 inch long claws and shot snow out of their mouths, so we were surrounded and my second youngest brother Os shielded us with the sleds and me and Nic used the poles to kill the snow demons. unfortunately one banged into a tree and a huge branch almost fell on us! The last one though was a huge specimen and was around eight feet tall. I tried to stab the sharp end of my pole into it but it managed to escape! a little while later after us three had made a stronghold the big one came back again with reinforcements! this though time Os had a rake and we had added metal tips to our poles. However these snow demons were not regular enlisted demons these were the elite. We just managed to fight them off and decided to play a prank on my stepdad when our mom called us in. however im sure those devious snow demons lie in wait for when they can ambush us and turn us to the dark side....or snow side?
